Our English program focuses on developing confident readers, writers and communicators through explicit teaching and evidence-based practices. Our literacy approach reflects the Big 6 of Reading; oral language, phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension, providing a systematic and balanced framework for literacy instruction. 

Through explicit instruction, modelling, retrieval practice, worked examples, feedback and opportunities for deliberate practice, students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to become successful readers, writers and lifelong learners.
