School Uniform Purchasing

If families prefer to purchase uniform pieces that do not have the school logo e.g. Target, Best & Less, please ensure that you select colours that match our TVDPS uniform selection.
Please ensure all items are clearly labelled with your child’s name. For students just starting school we recommend that you provide your child with spare clothing, in their school bag, in case of accidents.

General appearance
While at school, travelling to or from school or participating in school activities, Toolern Vale and District Primary School students must comply with the following:
Uniforms must be clean and in good repair.
Uniforms must be clearly labelled with the owner’s name.
Additional layers of clothing may be worn underneath the uniform for added warmth, provided these undergarments are hidden.
Health and safety
Shoulder length or longer hair is to be tied back to help restrict the spread of head lice.
Shoulder length and longer hair MUST be tied up for kitchen cooking classes for OHS.
Hair should only be of natural colour.
Students who wear braids or locs may wear them loose, except for kitchen cooking classes.
School uniform hats must be worn outside from the beginning of September to the end of April.
Sunglasses can be worn outside. These must meet the Australian Standards 1067.
Students are encouraged to apply SPF 50+ sunscreen before school and again before going outside.
Allowed school uniform
The uniform list defines school uniform.
An approved school hat is compulsory from the beginning of September to the end of April.
Year Six students will have the option of a ‘special Year Six top’ as well as approved uniform.
Puffer jackets and raincoats during cooler months.
Plain coloured beanies during cooler months, anything else must be approved by the school.
Enclosed school shoes, runners or sneakers.
Studs or small sleepers may be worn in ears.
Classic watches and medical bracelets may be worn.
Religious jewellery must be worn under clothing, for safety reasons.
Not allowed as part of the school uniform
Shoes with wheels or flashing lights.
Cosmetics.
Jewellery e.g. bracelets, rings, hoops etc.
Body piercings.
Fake nails of any type.
Large hair accessories e.g. bows, fake ears etc.
Hoodies.
Jeans.
Bike shorts.
Branded clothing e.g. Adidas pants with stripes on the side.
Caps.
